Choosing between binoculars, spotting scope and rifle scope
Science & Technology March 3rd, 2008Among the optical tools, perhaps binoculars are the most widely used ones. Not only because this unique instrument facilitates your viewing distant objects as near one but also because it has got several other uses too. You can use binoculars for watching the flying birds, for astronomical studies, for sports watch, hunting, even theaters and other entertainment and educative purposes. One more very important use of binoculars is its utility as a defense oriented instrument. It can be used for marine, air force, infantry and in every type of military operations.
Spotting scopes is ordinarily a telescope that is portable. The instrument’s capability is optimized for observing terrestrial objects. Its magnification power is much higher than the binoculars. There are three varieties of this instrument. The first one is straight, the second one is angled and the third one has a shoulder-mounted formation. If you are moving with a vehicle and wish to view objects from inside you should opt for the straight one with an adjustable rangefinder. The angled one is better for people who are taller than others.
On the other hand rifle scopes is all about identifying and hitting targets. Good rifle scopes will always have extra wide viewing capabilities and images generated should be quite sharp and distinguishable easily. Blurred images do not form good targets and that is the principle on which manufacturing of rifle scope is based.
