Learning the intricacies of effective magazine advertising
Advertising February 19th, 2008Effective advertising is the essence of successful business management. In the intense competition experienced by the commercial world today every organization is trying to out do the rivals through qualitative ads to attract potential customers to their products and services. You may publish your ads through online advertising or through the traditional methods.
Among the traditional methods one of the widely used methods is colorful magazine advertising. However, your basic aims for such advertising remains reaching the public many of whom would be your potential customers. Remember, magazine ads are expensive. Hence before you invest a good deal of your money in such advertising you must be sure of selecting the right magazine.
Ordinarily the magazine you contact will quote a figure indicating the readers it reaches. You need not believe blindly on such quotes. The magazine may not be printing even that number of copies. For example, a publisher may inform you that they are reaching 100,000 readers every month while they actually print only 50,000 copies. Again, 20,000 of them go to the dealers and newsstands and you are left with only 30,000 direct subscribers. The number may not justify the advertisement costs you bear.
The reasons for this fallacious state are due to the fact that most magazines rely on the pass along rate. This means the magazines believe that after reading you will pass the magazine on to some one else. Unfortunately, advertising in such magazines is not going to really promote your business.
