The story that my new husband tells about when he went to buy my engagement ring is very funny. He says that he was looking in the newspaper for anyone looking to sell diamonds. He already had a setting that was given to him by his grandmother, so he just needed the diamond. He found three ads in the paper for companies who sell diamonds loosely and also fix them into the settings for free.

I guess that he decided to do this whole having the diamond bought and set while I was out shopping, but I guess that I wound up walking past the diamond store while he was there and he hid behind the counter. I remember the day, because I remarked to him that I had seen a nice little shop that sell diamond jewelry and he should check it out. I had been hinting for weeks about a diamond engagement ring and pushing him to pop the question but little did I know that he had already been working on it.

A lot of people think that it is ironic how I walked past the shop where they sell diamond jewelry and obviously loose diamonds at the very time my boy friend at the time was there buying and having a diamond installed into a setting from his grandma.
