I Learned About A Tilting Wheelchair
Health September 15th, 2009When my brother in law became wheelchair bound last month because of a car accident, I was not sure how he would be able to have his yearly dentist checkup. I had seen how the dentist chairs tilted back but was not sure how I would get him into the chair in the first place. I started to do some checking online and found a company that makes and sells a tilting wheelchair. How genius is that?
I also discovered that a dentist that was located in the next county over from ours was skilled in how the tilting wheelchair worked and called his office to schedule my brother in laws appointment there instead of the dentist we had used for years. Having the peace of mind of knowing that the dentist we were going to, dealt with patients that were wheelchair bound was better than going to the same dentist we had known for years.
The new dentist was great with my brother in law during the entire appointment and I would recommend him to anyone that has special needs or is wheelchair bound. He makes everyone feel very comfortable with the procedures he performs. I believe that all care givers and professionals such as dentists and doctors should become familiar with the tilting wheelchairs.
